SSS'11 update

So this is the dress I wore on Tuesday and today.

I used this simplicity pattern that my MIL gave me a few months ago, I omitted the collar and added a tie front. The fabric came from my trip to China. The pattern I used was a size 14 and rather shapeless around the waist, so I took in the side seams and added back darts to create a better shape.

  3. You have been busy. Love the dress. I prefer tie necklines to collars, just a personal thing. I also loved the pink blouse with the flowers on, such a lovely colour too. Sorry, they were all nice but I just picked those to our especially. lol.

  5. Really lovely - I can't sew for toffee so am always very impressed by such things!!

Those simplicity patterns take me right back to my childhood when Mum used to sew clothes a lot.

  9. What a lovely dress, I remember the Simplicity patterns well, I used to buy these in Woolworths during the 1970s. I had not realised they were still around, I may have a go myself.

  11. Very smart - well done. Was a big fan of simplicity patterns when I was into dressmaking - in fact my wedding dress was one of their patterns.
