Recently I started following BOOOOOM.
It's a art/music/film blog of sorts.
Today these stunning embroideries on top of pencil drawings were posted. They can all be found on Boom and are by Izziyana Suhaimi.
I think they are hand stitched on heck paper. You would probably need some sort of interfacing ironed to the back to prevent ripping. You could also draw on the very thick pelmet violence and the stitch straight into it with hand or machine embroidery I used it on some of my pieces here. http://ragbagsandgladrags.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/drawing-with-stitch.html
